Thanks guys, finally for me. Now I can reveal to my friends the news finally....
I've learnt so much from the forum espeically on previous interview questions so I hit all of the questions in the interview.

dear all, this is the email from my prof's secretary:

"I made sure about your acceptance.
The president of our university will contact with the Ministry of Education until 16th December.
After that, the Ministry of Education will notice your acceptance to you.
So you need not worry about your acceptance."

does she mean i get the scholarship already?!? i hope so!!!!

I've just got news from my consulate! They said i was accepted by MEXT
However, they still don't know which university... They also don't have any other information, just "accepted". I'm kind of confused...

I received the same email too, "You are "tentatively selected" as MEXT scholarship recipient. This does not mean that you are guaranteed to get the scholarship."

now still give us this tentative answer, make me want to ask when do u want to give us the confirmed answer @@

my professor and embassy lady said that we will receive the final result sometime in February, and I shouldn't worry since from now on it's all a matter of paperwork. I think the embassy says "tentatively" because that's the answer they received from MEXT and as you guys know, they always tend to give ambiguous and evasive answers. but if you are on the MEXT list, the probability that you will get the scholarship is around 99,99%. so cheer up guys! ^^

it is definitely good to know that at least i am on the "tentatively" list

from previous experience, the candidates who passed embassy selection will have 99% chance of getting scholarship, but suddenly got the budget cut issue, and make this 99% not real anymore
so I dare not to expect i could definitely go to japan yet

but anyway, finally i can take a break from this waiting game!

I only know a little japanese, at the interview they asked me if I can speak japanese... How long I have been studying japanese... I said that I only know a little. Then they ask me to introduce myself in japanese. I introduced myself in a very simple sentences, my name, where I came from, my major and my campus.

hi everybody!!! everyday when I get to work, reading the forum is the first thing I do (even before checking emails regarding to work!!!)
These days have been very happy, reading all of your posts about the embassy's confirmation.

AYunxiaojie, prettybunny, Risa, blurcheyl, ralukchris, elaeis and all of you from the previous pages: Congratulations to you all!!!

I want to thank all of you still cheering for me!!! when I get the news I'll call my mom first, but second I will post it right away here!!!

To my malaysian friends, probably all of you got the "tentative" acceptance. I would recommend you not to worry.
@elaeis, probably you can reply that email saying thanks to the answer and ask for a date to finally get the full-acceptance.

@akmal, remember that it's never too soon to start a the same topic gathering all 2012's candidates ^_-!!! lately there's been some users that appeared in this thread asking some question regarding the process. Be sure to read all this topic (maybe you can search for some keywords like "research proposal" and such) and ask as much as you need.
My first advice is, since you have still many many months until next year's deadline: think about what you want to research. Don't worry about the proposal yet, that will be a piece of cake when you already know what to study.

I don't think it is necessary cuz it's a notification mail plus she mentioned that write to her only if you wanna drop the scholarship. So I guess not sending any reply means you want the scholarship.

I still got no news from the embassy or school. I only submitted one "Certificate of Acceptance" and that's from Tokyo University. Is there anyone here got any news from Todai? It's holiday here so I won't be getting anything from the embassy until Monday.

@poppypants: I got the same email from my advisor...I will be going there in October. Hope to see you all in Japan!
@asanoki: Don't be dishearted...courage not always means a roar...at times it mean to tell our self silently that we will try again tomorrow. Keep the sword him and charge! A thorough preperation of proposal along with honest "non-diplomatic" answers at the interview...thats the key for MEXT. All the very best!

what is your answer?
My prof didn't ask me about that, I think because I wrote in the scholarship application form that I want to go there in April.
If you go in April then we will board the same plane to Japan and HiroDai, and attend the same japanese language class
