I stared to follow your and other people comments here since two week and I am happy to find different students from different countries all over the world sharing their views, comments and even ideas. let me to know you uptodate news:?:?:?Congratulations Mirimono. Good luck.
@YKK: I really like your way of thinking. I wish you good luck. You deserve this scholarship.
Poopy, If I'm not mistaken you applied at HiroDai right? I also applied at HiroDai.Congratulations Mirimono
Being the pessimistic person that I am, I feel that I will be one of the people that gets cut because of the budget cuts. The wait is killing me.

Can you please tell us if you got any emails from your professors regarding the MEXT student list?
I will also post at this forum immediately if I got the email from my prof.
Thanks
Hello every body, do you think that the MEXT ranking may differ from that made by the embassy?? if anybody have an answer for this question please try to post the answer here if you do not mind... However, the opinion may not change the fact , I am only to optimistic as possible as I can:?:?:?:?:?:?:?![]()
Thank you for your optimistic answer, however, I feel that I had been excluded..I think Ia unlucky after telling me that I had passed the preliminary screening as a regular nominee, now I am alternate... but in any case thank you for your answer, and I wish good luck for you and for every body here.................,,,:?:?:?:?Although it's said in the Japan Embassy website in my country that the secondary selection is conducted based on the result of preliminary selection, I heard that MEXT also puts LoA from professors into consideration, so IMO, yes the ranking may differ from the preliminary selection.
The results will be soon announced, so don't blame yourselfThank you for your optimistic answer, however, I feel that I had been excluded..I think Ia unlucky after telling me that I had passed the preliminary screening as a regular nominee, now I am alternate... but in any case thank you for your answer, and I wish good luck for you and for every body here.................,,,:?:?:?:?
Thank you Ahmed for continuous follows and I wish it will be fine-but I do not think so- In any case you are rightThe results will be soon announced, so don't blame yourself![]()
Maximum 27 days and everything will be clear.
We did our best, and nothing more to be done.
Good luck.
Yes Peter that what happen exactly to me, I was the last one in the embassy ranking and then I had been postponed from being regular to alternate nominee, and I wish good luck for you and your friend, thank you for your commentI just learned that one of my friends who was also among the recommended candidates was rejected and she was told about it by the embassy. What I know is that she had lower marks during the first screening, so technically she should have been at the low positions in the ranking. Maybe MEXT cut the last few places, I don't know.... >_<
Which University contacted you?
Nagoya University.
I have received LoA from Nagoya too.. however my current field is not psychologyit is related to engineering
! ..So, keep walking and waiting n.n
Thank you Mirimono we hope so for every one here in his competition:sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry:Then you will hopefully receive an email too. Since Nagoya University already seems to know who will be sent to their faculties...
And I'm sorry to hear that others were rejected. It's really frustrating (I know, I had to apply twice and was once rejected even before the first screening), especially when you were already on the list for the candidates. But I still hope the rest of us will receive the good news soon.

Hi, My univ preference is as follows: Tohoku univ, Nagoya univ and Kyoto univ.. (Happily receiving LoAs from them).. If anyone of you receive news from Tohoku, please post it.Nagoya University contacted me.I have choosen anothers universities but only Nagoya Univ send me A LOAs.I got another LOA from Tohuku Univ but I didn't send it to the Embassy because It's come too late. But I send Nagoya Univ LOAS in the deadline and yesterday the Embassy confirm me that they send all my documents to MEXT.I don't give up and I hope that the final decision will be better.Every body don't give up it's so wooring and amazing!!
Thank you so much for your prompt reply.I also got the LoA from Tohoku University. As for now, no news about second screening from them.
Hi Peter, thank you for your information, you are right I am one who was in the past recommended as a regular candidate , but now due to the cut of fund, I am alternateI have some news. Today I had a brief talk with the local person who is responsible for the post-graduate program. I was told that just a few days before the embassy was about to send to MEXT the usual number of recommended candidates and all their documents and LoAs (11 people initially), MEXT suddenly asked them to recommend only 8 candidates. Therefore 3 people dropped in the last moment and their documents were not sent (despite some of them having already received their LoAs). Luckily, I'm in those 8, but I don't know what will happen in the next selection to be conducted by MEXT.
So I guess that's what happened in all countries - MEXT suddenly asked the embassies to send less recommended candidates than initially planned. My question now is, does anyone know if MEXT usually gives the scholarship to all the candidates recommended by the embassies, or they usually cut out some more people?
