Yes, shopping in the big banana, or 'maze of woder,' can be fun, exciting, and, of course, VERY expensive. I do hope you have fun, and satisfy yourself on the up-coming shopping trip.

I'm glad, then, that you did decided to join up, and learn some--while meeting some folks on this forum as well. As far as learning about the culture and stuff, I think by checking out some of the older threads in search mode, or possibly some new ones, you may be able to learn a little about some aspects of Japanese culture and sub-cultures. Yet, I think you'd find more secure, and precise information in a few books on the subject at your local library.
