Truthfully, since you're only a few months off and have your degree, I don't think the last 8 months of schooling are going to be counted against you. I think you'll be okay. And yes, number 2 refers to the Japanese entrance exam at the school you want to go to, but it seems to be assuming that you didn't graduate, which you have. I think you should be fine, but if you're still unsure, your embassy might be able to clear that up for you.

Hi, I'm applying for the scholarship in Canada. Is anyone out there from Canada?
I'm trying really hard now to try to get a supervisor for embassy selection because I think it will look that much better.

For anyone out there who has gone through this process before.....I heard that the embassy applies a kind of point system to the written applications....Is this true? :? And does anyone know what are the things that they look for?

I'm the one who will seat for written exam on 9th may.. so excited rite now plus little bit nervous.. i just wonder, how many people will be selected to get the scholarship for one time??

I'm taking for research in fisheries science.. since japan have those expertise, i just try my best survive for this scholarship..

For those taking the exams these days (mine will be in late July...) can you please tell us just if the japanese test was too difficult?
Since they haven't posted in studyjapan last year's exam, it was 20 different texts and reading comprehension questions about them *scary* (above 3kyu level)

A lot has been said about the ethics of telling people how were the exams, but just a small hint like "super difficult - about 1kyu level" or "Ok, about 3kyu level" would be ok.

hehe..a little blast from the past

It's been a while since the last time I posted in this forum...
At last... two days ago, I receive notification from the embassy (Indonesia) that I have an exam coming on next monday and interview on wednesday.
I nearly lost my patience while waiting for the first selection announcement but now I've got this mix feeling of happiness and nervous at the same time, well now I'm preparing to study my english and browsing this forum again for any information regarding exam and interview.
I just wanna say that I'm really grateful for all the post from previous applicants regarding this scholarship process. It really help me in many ways...Thanks guys and girls

hehehe...ya, you are right arap. I fell both excited and nervous...and also worried..
I dont know what should I feel if I'm not selected for interview session soon.
This exam will determine whether I will go for the next stage or will just stop my journey here. so scary ..
I always imagine that there are lots of people who more expert in japanese and also english. I'm not even confident for english paper....

i am from austria, applying for the research student scholarship for the first time. my field of research is linguistics / foreign language research. application deadline here is ma 14, so i still have one week to go and complete my application.

i'd also be interested in how many scholarships will be granted in total... does anybody have an idea about that?

its the same time again to go through the grind of mombusho application and selection procedure.

I am applying for second time for senior MEXT, was selected for junior MEXT but didnt got the final yes from Tokyo.

I tried it last year also, my exam and interviews went well, but my results didn't.

Hope I can make some difference this time.

Haha...i was thinking about that too. But then again, i don't think it really matters as long as you look presentable, i guess.

did you mention in the application form that you've learnt japanese before? if yes, then you gotta sit for the test even though you're at beginner's level.

yup, I've mentioned that I've learnt japanese before but it is okay if we don't want to sit for it..I've asked the question to Ms Yin about a month ago after got the email calling for the exam. This is the answer by Ms Yin:
"We will ask candidates who have learned Japanese language to sit for Japanese language examination. However, if a candidate finds it impossible to answer all the questions, he/she can choose not to answer the paper."
so, I'm not study anything for japanese paper and will not sit for it tomorrow..

Concerning the approach of achieving my goals(the part of Study Program), honestly, it is unclear for me to tell. However, if it is as I have been told to describe the study program in Japan as month by month or semester by semester. Then, I should be familiar with the program of my major in Japan's universities. Will any of you make it clear for me? ..Thanks

the english paper is quite tough...i think so,for me.
arrgh i'm so scared.coz i really want this more than anything.
