Hi, I am new on this website. My name is Shawn & I am from Iowa which is in the heart of the United States. I discovered my passion for Japan when I realized all most the things I liked were from Japan. Like Pokemon, DrangonBallZ & Power Rangers. I am currently in my third year of high school (in the US most high schools are 4 year.) & I am taking Japanese class at my school. I am also starting to learn the language independently so if someone on here is already in fluent in Japanese maybe you can help & become my friend? I can read Hiragana & Katakana & I have learned a little Kanji on my own. I can also have basic conversations in Japanese. That's enough about me though I want to hear about you guys now. :-)

Hello, Shawn. Hajimemashite. I'm Hirashin, a Japanese man.

I know Pokemon and Dragonball Z, but I'm not sure about Power Rangers.
Would you tell me what it is like?

Hirashin

They're basically "Super Sentai." Welcome Shawn, hope you have fun.

hello 2 both of you. Yea like mentioned above it's based off Super Sentai. I believe it started in Japan in 1992 & came here to America in 1993 but it has some big changes compared to the Japanese version & used to be a big thing here back in the 90's.

They kept the gattai scenes and rerecorded the rest with their own actors.

hello Shawn san .... welcome here in jref , it's good course that you learned ...
for me , I study Japaneses course in third level and I know more than 200 kanji and some basic Japaneses conversations in Japanese and I speak Japanese and read hiragana and katakana and a lot of kanji ....
I get some boring in Japanese but I try my best , and ehmmmm *big sigh*
it's nice to meet you here and if you have any problem in Japanese , you can add thread in nihongo forum

Thank you for the explanation for Power rangers. Hmm... I think I saw some of Gorenjaa (literally Five Rangers?) series.

Hirashin
