Miyavi

Hey everyone,

I'm probably asking a really stupid question.

Is miyavi a man or a woman?

I did a quick google image search and I could find mixed pictures with miyavi wearing both male and female clothes.

Maybe miyavi is a transvestite?

No, he's not transvestite. He's a man. -_- Yeah, it's quite stupid question. I don't mean to offend you or anything and sorry if I'm being rude or smhtng, but I don't like those kind of questions and I don't like when ppl think that he's a girl.

I'm glad that he has found another company. But I still like PS Company... :(

Pics are hooot. *droolz*

Oh, and I like the idea to make a banner for support site! ( ^ _ ^ )

I agree with Tokyogirl.
I really don´t like those questions, because if you look for him in google, then you must know he is a male!!
Look for some videos, this voice is more manly than some others..... -.-

:D I haven´t heard/read this question for so long!
of course he is a man, you can see it on most pictures (his arms, neck aren´t that of a woman)... and he isn´t a transvestite...he just look good in everything..
and I suppose you don´t know Visual Jrock, do you? or else you woudn´t call it transvetitizm..miyavi can look very manly when he wants to..and very feminine if he feels like it...he is more like a chameleon

Don't get your knickers in a bunch.

I only did a google image search since I saw a lot of users in jref with miyavi this and miyavi that.

And no, I wouldn't think miyavi to be a man after seeing him with make-up on his very feminine face and wearing a kimono.

If you are offended by my question, complain to someone who cares.

No, sorry. I never heard of jpop or an artist called miyavi before I joined this forum.

Cheers for your more sensible response than others have displayed. :)

haha LOL Miyavi isn´t jpop...although some of his songs sound like it, he is unique.
well, if you are looking for the visual kei, try the wikipedia. It isn´t very explanatory, but you can get a basic idea.
I really don´t know, why artist in visual rock started to wear make-up, but my guess is, that it has something in common with the name visual- visualy atractive. Visualy catchy. The idea isn´t japanese, it existed in western music as well- f.e. Queen, Kiss etc.
Now, the style changed a lot from it´s begining- the golden era were the 1997- 2002 years. And I guess, they noticed soon, that girls like men, who aren´t hairy, shave their underarms and legs and care for themselves. The make-up is a stage thing, as well as clothes.
And don´t really don´t get offended by answers, that are so passionately defending miyavi, because for us here he is a person Nr.1. Not only because of his looks (which is very attractive), but above all for his music and personality. He is very clever and intelligent and well you can read some of his lyrics, you will understand what I am talking about), he does look feminine, but as I said, he can be masculine.
Now he is in his feminine stage...bu never mind. Just give him a chance...and listen to his music a little...
Well, maybe it is difficult for you as a man (I guess you are a man), but girls like people like him and looks like him. Don´t ask me why. It´s just so. (I bet you have a preferred type of women yourself, but can´t explain always, why..)

Visaul Kei is a style when men wear very feminine things, put make - up and have strange haircuts. They wear skirts, halters(like Uruha from Gazetto)... But that DOESN'T mean that they are gay or that they are tranvestites. -_-

Edit:
Oh, olosta, sorry. Didn't see your post. :)

Hahaha, I guess I don't pass that requirement. Although I have an athletic body and realize most guys who have them shave or wax themselves, I like to keep my hair on my chest and legs.

I try not to judge people. When I first saw a picture of him in a kimono I just thought he is a japanese woman on the attractive side.

Hahahahahahahaha, and there I thought the symbol next to the flag would give it away. :)

Sorry, my musical heart lies with relaxing and very melodic music.

I have explained to a lot of people what type of woman I prefer. If you want to know, have a read of my comments in this Thread: Preference for Japanese woman?

Cheers for explaining Visual Kei to me. :)

hey guys, sorry been gone for so long... happy v-day to y'all... Crystallize you are so freaking lucky... i wish i could go to a myv concert, but good luck explaining to my parents why i need to go to a concert in texas -_-" not to mention i probably won't be able to get enough cash together to go... T-T

Yes, Miyavi is very much male. He makes a lovely girl, but he (and other jrock guys) just crossdress for kicks. And he's not even that feminine compared to other jrockers.
for example, this is THE MAN, Yoshiki.
Yes, that's a man.
-_-"

So Meevers left PSC. Is he going to start his own company??? Hm... perhaps he will produce other artists... But no matter what I will support him!

mm.... miyavi... *drool*

@Remixer - I red it.. Well, it's ok if you don't like Asian women. It's your opinion and choice. :)

And if you want to ask anything about VK, just ask. ;)

i found this in the pits of photobucket.... is this an actual miyavi song or a poem a fangirl wrote? does anyone know??

Hahahahahahahaha, and there I thought the symbol next to the flag would give it away. :)

lol..i didn´t notice...my eyes are tired, I am working with photoshop all day...
remixer, of course, none is expecting you to like visual kei- everyone has his/her own favourites...but maybe you learnt something new and maybe interesting :P

and the most feminine man I ever saw is Toshiya from Diru. Without dispute.

or here:

(i think he is prettier than the girls)

mmm... thanks so much olosta :-)

Although, I disagree about Toshiya... while he is quite feminine i think you are forgetting another member of Dir en grey who should get the feminine looking dude crown... and the prom queen tiara... SHINYA!!
diren24-1.webp

and there are pics more feminine than that!!!

so, with that in perspective, I have never needed to question Miyavi's maleness. XD

Shinya or Toshya don't llook feminine to me. Only on those pics, but they aren't like that in real. -_-

ok ok, toshya and shinya rocks!
but...here are three banners I made...I hope you will like at least one of them:

I don´t know...but i guess you can have only one signature...you can change them regularly if you like..:D
You can use them as you like, no credits needed XD

Hahaha, don't worry. Everyone makes mistakes. :)

I did learn something new and to me possibly disturbing. I can't wrap my head around why a man dressing like a woman comes across as masculine and attractive, but maybe I'm just old-fashioned by today's standards.

No idea who Toshiya is and not sure if my brain could handle it before it breaks down and I start sitting in a corner asking myself what the world has become. :)

Unless those girls are under grown adults, I am gobsmacked and disturbed that people dress little girls up like this and nobody minds.
