Hi there,

Any recommendations as to what one who is visiting Akita City for about 7 days should see aside from going to high school with homestay host student?

Are there shopping malls, gardens, lakes, things that a 15 yr old teenage girl would be interested in? 😌

Hi,
I'm high school student in Japanese.I went to Akita 10 months ago.
I introduce something in center of Akita city.
First,I recommend you to go "Kubota jo ato(Kubota ruins of castle)".It is also called "Chiaki Kouen(Chiaki park)"
There is a park built in ruins of castle and some old constructions and Japanese gardens.
You can arrive by walking from Akita Station there for five minutes.
Next, I recommend you to go "Akarenga Kyodokan(Red brick Museum)" .
This is a small museum where the bank was redecorated. This building was built in 19 century.
This museum holds tools of traditional festival and so on.Visiting there,You can learn about many things. This museum is near the"Kubota jo ato"
~About shopping~
Akita is not big city in Japan.Probably, there is not large shopping molls.
But there is some interesting shop.
First,"Akita shimin shijo(Akita city's people market)"
It is a food market where the people shop chiefly. Maybe,You can see many Fish, vegetables, fruits and so on. But I haven't been there...
Next, there is some silver work shop. You can buy silver accessories.
One of the special product in Akita is a silver work. It is beautiful. But these are expensive...
These is all thing that I know. Sorry.
I wish to you come to my country...
