My wife is finally open to sending him to a Juku but which one? I would prefer to send to one that his friends go if that was possible. He won't say and my wife is a not close with other parents and cancelled PTA. She works. He needs revision for Year 2 and 3. He couldn't do the last complete the list of kanji at all. My wife write it and he traced it. He did quite well in some supplemental exercises after that but he can only remember a few kanji. Of course we also want him to be able to Year 4 as it come along. Maths has some issues like treating subtraction as addition or putting the numbers in the wrong order in subtraction or division but he is mostly fine with anything not too onerous like multidigit maths.

He is bad at second grade and third grade kanji and some issues with maths. Of course what to keep get fourth grade kanji right too.

A teacher is liable to influenced by all the education companies that flow through school- absurd numbers are allowed (saw it as an ALT) rather than know what company has actual inspirational competent teachers who can efficiently revise rather than nice grinders- that would work for some children.
