Hi Ayhan and welcome to the forum. Are you interested in learning Japanese?

Hello, thank you. Yes, it would be very beneficial for me to learn Japanese at least at a basic level. I'm curious and trying to figure out where to start.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you have a great time here!

Ayhan, the first step is to become familiar with the Japanese writing system. Japanese is written using three scripts called hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Have you heard of them?

Yes, I've heard, I think memorizing Japanese letters is the most important step to learn. I had Duolingo installed, but I couldn't save because I didn't recognize the letters. First you need to recognize the letters.

Ayhan, here is a video with a general overview of the Japanese language. (You may be interested to see that there may be a connection between the Japanese and Turkish languages. It is mentioned at 1:03.)

Please watch the video and let us know what you think. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
