The Namahage Museum (なまはげ館) is located in Oga, Akita, adjacent to the Oga Shinzan Folklore Museum. It has been designated as an Important National Intangible Folk Cultural Property (国の重要無形民俗文化財) and exhibits historical materials on Namahage, also known as a folk event on the Oga Peninsula. Actual Namahage from all over the Oga region are also on display, and there is also a corner where you can try on Namahage costumes. The exterior walls are made of masonry made of Kanfu stone from Oga, and Akita cedar is used for the interior.
