""On Friday, May 15th, at a Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne (The Order of the Slopes of Champagne) event at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Tokyo, Yoshiki, recommended by the Commandeur (president) of the organisation, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, received the title of Chevalier (knight). Yoshiki said he was honored to receive the title and joked that champagne is a sexy drink and good to drink with women.
Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne is an organisation whose role is to "promote the wines of Champagne, their unique features, their ways of consumption and everything which contributes to their reputation and their image as the most prestigious symbol of success and celebration." Their mission is to "contribute to the dissemination of essential information concerning the wines of Champagne by creating and motivating a network of staunch supporters, most notably through chapitres, tastings and "discovery" activities." It was created in 1656 at the court of Louis the XIV and it consists of over 4,000 members, such as famous artists, politicians, business men and other champagne lovers from around the world.""

Yoshiki escapes unharmed after being mobbed by fans in Kyoto bookstore
Wednesday 10th June, 02:00 PM JST

KYOTO —
X Japan's Yoshiki visited a Kyoto bookstore on Tuesday to greet fans and talk about the new book ツ"YOSHIKIツ" (Kadokawa Publishing, 2,310 yen), a non-fiction tale of his dramatic near-death written by Narumi Komatsu.

Having arrived in Kyoto for other work, he proposed the idea of an appearance the night before, deciding on a surprise visit to Ogaki Bookstore in Karasuma. Despite the fact that the visit was only announced on Yoshiki's website, over 300 fans had appeared by 7:30 a.m. that morning to greet the star.

The store had posted 20 security guards on crowd control for Yoshiki's visit. When the Mercedes-Benz carrying the star arrived just after noon, fans screamed in excitement, some with tears in their eyes. Yoshiki was accidentally crushed by a group of swarming fans, and sources say he escaped with sprained fingers on his right hand. He was inside just long enough to sign the shop's poster for the book, but for about three minutes, his presence turned what is normally a quiet book store into a whirlwind of excitement similar to an X Japan concert.

ツ"I'm really happy. We've been doing shows here since before our debut, and Kansai is like a second home to me,ツ" he said. When asked about playing concerts in the region, Yoshiki announced, ツ"It's a definite possibility. Things have already started to move, and if all goes well, it might happen some time this year.ツ" Regarding the location, he commented, ツ"I'd definitely want a stage built that won't shake.ツ"

Will Kansai fans get to see the ツ"X Jumpツ" on the same scale as Tokyo Dome?!

He's lucky I wasn't there! It would not have been pretty!:devilish:

Yurga: In response to your comment about older people not understanding the beauty of Yoshiki and other Japanese men...Well, as one of the oldest broads on these threads, I can assure you that I definitely appreciate the beauty of Yoshiki. For any man to look that good at his age...it's a crime, I tell ya. He is gorgeous, sexy, and SO talented. And so are a lot of other Japanese performers - my very favorite being Yomi from Nightmare. Yeah, I know, he's like half my age...but he is so HOT. And his beautiful voice just makes my heart melt every time I hear it, which is every day!!! I may be old (by the calendar, anyhow), but I'm not dead...or blind... And, thanks for the great pictures - it's nice to see Toshi is also looking good these days.

How much older are you thinking of when you say older people don't understand? Do I count as older? I certainly feel old compared to a lot of J-rock fans out there!

More on topic - Poor Yoshiki... I bet he loved it really! :P ... also awwww baby Yosh :D That book looks awesome! If I ever get to Japan I'm sooo buying it!

haha lol thanks guys... it is odd, isn't it, that the guys I love and idolise tend to be a bit older than my parents??? lol

but i dunno... i saw SUGIZO's book at a local bookstore called Kinokuniya when i went there... they didnt have Yoshiki's yet but at a record store nearby they had JEALOUSY album for $20... yum... but I am lucky to live in NYC where there is a very active vkei scene and a lot of Japanese people...

ooooooh I'm gonna ask my supervisor at MJP if I can be the one to translate that article...

This is kind of off topic, but does anyone have the kanji lyrics for hide's Doubt 97?? I wanna tackle translating it, cuz it is a song that really... caught me... for some reason, but I can't find the english version anywhere, and would like to know what it means...
