Yes Japan

I've seen the george and keiko show a few times on google video. It can be pretty entertaining, but I'm not sure if I would pay for it as a learning aid.

There are not a whole lot of Japanese learning videos that you don't pay for. T_T
I may give a 10 day trial and see how I like it.

Hi Damicci!

No, there aren't many that is offered free, especially in video form, so you probably have to get by with use of online learning sites (many of them posted in the Textbook, tests... section) and manga/anime. If you're looking for spoken standard Japanese, I recommend watching the old series such as Doraemon and Sazae-san.

I also like "Teach Yourself Japanese" website and message board that Glenn recommends (in his signature).

NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) has a number of Japanese language courses on TV and radio. Maybe you can get your girlfriend to record them and buy the companion textbooks for you? (NHK has demanded Youtube to take off all of their programs, so you can't get them there any longer.)

Another thing that NHK offers is Japanese language learning on its website: Easy Japanese, free audio & text lessons | NHK WORLD RADIO JAPAN

Their lessons require RealPlayer, but if you don't like it (like many others) you can get the MP3 version of the archived lessons here: mp3japan

For the intermediate and advanced students, I found that Eigo Town has started bilingual Podcast of Time Magazine articles. I don't know how long they will be doing this, but enjoy it while you can!
英語タウンポッドキャスティング:『タイムマガジン ポッドキャスト フォージャパン』

The English (read by sentence) is followed by Japanese, so it can be very good in understanding vocabulary usage from context.

Edit: I discovered that the actual podcast is not like what I thought it was... :emoji_bow: But hope it can be used in understanding the Japanese spoken in the dialogue!

Hope it helps some! 🙂:
