I'm starting to realize how insanely simple my course book is. It didn't fully explain horizontal writing like my other book did. I don't see any links above that explain numbering. Could some oen do me a favor and display the following numbers in hiragana and kanji (and this includes their alternative names like 4 has 2 names):

1 through 20, 30, 31, 32, 40, 41, 50, 51, 60, 61, 70, 71, 80, 81, 90, 91, 100, 101, 110, 220, 230, 231, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 2000, 10000, 100000, 1000000

I know that's alot of numbers, but it should explain the number system pretty well. (Excluding how they relate as prefixes to nouns, which i have a feeling i'm gonna have to ask about later.)

Google has never been my friend... I've never found a decent assembly tutorial on google, but i have in 5 minutes of wikipedia.

I saw that site before, but it's references to romanized letters as if they were kanji (or kana) words makes no sense... for example:

Another word H "shi" also means four, but you cannot combine it with units. It is less colloquial and less useful.

what's with the H?

That's the accent pattern. し is a high pitch, and therefore accented.

I don't see how it makes no sense. The romanization is underneath the hiragana.

Does that mean you understand it now? I actually think it's a pretty well put together page, and it should be useful to you. Of course, there is a lot of information there.

Yes it does... kinda... lol i won't go into detail why it still dosn't make sence, for it is actually irrelevant in interpreting the page.

H is for high, L is for low. 七 is marked LH, so the first syllable し is low, and the second syllable ち is high. I couldn't find a legend on the page, but glenn's explanation makes sense now that I gave it another look.

Interesting site, I always wondered how to say one duovigintillion. I don't like the romanization method they use, but I don't look at the romaji anymore so it's a moot point.
