OH yeah, . A couple of days ago I saw parts of the movie in a vidoe from the french hip hop group Tragedie. I was hoping to find out wat the movie was. It looked amazing from the lil scenese that I saw.
Thx for posting this thread ; I'll make sure I try to see it

I saw the film a few months ago, it is amazing, as much as I love Jackie Chan, the fights in this film were the best I have seen. There is going to be an Ong Bak 2 which I look forward to.

Awwww man!

I envy you guys. I haven't watched it but a classmate from martial arts class recommended it to me. I've been wanting to lay my hands on a copy since then it's just so hard to find in my place.

I agree. This movie has some great fight scenes. The flaming kick was a neat thing to see.

My friend sent me the video file a few months back.

I agree 100%!!!

Huhuhu! Now I'm really turning absolutely martian green with envy because I finally saw the video from the link... I saw some cds being sold a few months back but I thougt it was another sleazy film... Well I guess I'll just scout the video shops again...

Err... Are they speaking French? or it's just me...

You saw the French trailer They speak Thai in the movie !!!

Hey guys!! I finally got to watch Ong Bak...

I really like it a lot, especially the flaming leg kick. Man that was cool!! Nice movie though I didn't like the story line that much. I like the way the cameras moved with every fight scene. I also liked the chasing scene where the hero had to jump on top of cars and humans and go through a barb wire formed into a circle... Wow!!!

What irked me though was the copy I watched, the english translation was bad, some dialogues were not translated, and the spelling was bad too...

You mean stuff like "You! Eat you hot buillets of death!" or "Your kung fu is pig dung!" ?
That's quite common in many low-budget HongKong films, and apparently (some) Thai films make no exception there.

ive recently seen this movie as well really good movie i think any action fan could appreciate. some of the fighting just blew me away. the funny bit was they subtitled, in english, the english bits as well. sadako prolly just got a bad sub-file or something as most movie are done by regular people, ive seen some bad subs in my day.

sadako, if you want i can give you a subtitle file for it. this one has hardly any errors in it...

Ong Bak in Japanese theaters next week.

I have had a VCD copy of Ong Bak for about 4 months. I picked it up in Singapore the last time I was there. It is great.
They will be releasing it in the theaters in Japan next week under the title of Hero... at least that is what I get from the poster I saw in the metro yesterday.

I tried seeing it today at a theater in Kubukicho but the guy said to come back next week.

anyone who needs a vcd backup of this movie can e-mail at tokyo_tapes@tokyo.com

i am sure we can work something out

Thats looks ace, but here in the uk its almost impossible to get hold of these movies. !!!

Geez, that's flattering. Thanks so much but I already have one.

I just saw the Hong Kong version of Ong Bak. It has some drug taking scenes in it that were cut out of the Singapore version. Also, the HK version has an English translaiton of the Thai that is more harse in a streetwise sense.

ONG-BAK gets a nationwide release Nov 19! That rocks! And the subtitles on this one are much better.
