Hello @ all

I'm going to Japan this year and will visit Kobe as well.
I've seen online that the city has several ropeways.
Do you recommend any of those?
Where do I get the best view over Kobe/Osaka area?
Is it worth to try all of them or is just one enough?

- Shin-Kobe Ropeway
- Maya Ropeway
- Rocco Cablecar

Thanks alot

Greetings from Germany

The ropeway that goes from Arima to the top of Mt. Rokko is quite nice. At the bottom is the lovely onsen (hot springs) town of Arima and at the top is a great view of the whole Kobe area. There are also several shops and restaurants and a little farm at the top of the mountain as well. I definitely recommend stopping in Arima and enjoying the hot springs, they are really heavenly!

To visit the Herb garden, and to get a nice view of main Kobe you should take the Shin-Kobe cable car.

If you want to visit various atractions, and want to have a lovely dinner at Garden terrace with an amazing view over Kobe and Osaka (Hanshin) you should take the Rokko Cable (take the Hankyu Kobe towards Osaka, get off at Hankyu rokko and get bus 16 to Rokko Cable Shita. )

The Rope-way to Maya... isn't something special in my opinion... But if you want to take it you can take a bus towards it from Sannomiya or Hankyu Rokko.

You can also hike up the mountain, which will take you from 2 hours up to 5 hours (or half a day if you want to start from Suma ;) )
