Hi All,

Where would I find men's briefs in Japan? It seems that every shop I go into only has "boxer briefs", and nothing else. In Australia they just have multi packs of them in KMart for cheap. Not sure why this is an exotic item here, so any advice on where to find them would be great.

Cheers

Ok, so probably not what you're going for, but this strange website:

フリパン - パンツから日本を元気に!日本最大級のパンツ総合メディア

Has these:

ベーコン好きに朗報!? ベーコンの香りがするパンツが登場! - フリパン

...and now I have gone down a weird rabbit hole of searching for underwear on amazon.co.jp...

Which reminds me of the thread on JREF discussing intonation patterns of パンーツ and how they impact whether it means pants or underpants.

I am quite sure that those "second tier" department stores have them. I don't mean anything condescending, but I don't know how to better describe it. What I mean are those department stores that you find in the smaller cities or suburbs, with lesser known chain stores and a supermarket inside of it. Often they have some large clothing stores with less fashionable items, suits, etc.

Maybe someone who currently lives in Japan knows what I mean, and can tell you some store names.

Don Quixote (ドンキホーテ) have them and also gentlemen's shops for suits and such. I have seen them at GU and UniQlo before too.
