Hello, native English speakers,
I have a question about "when" and "where".

Which would be all right?
1a) March 3rd is the celebration day for girls, when hina dolls are the main display.
1b) March 3rd is the celebration day for girls, where hina dolls are the main display.
1c) March 3rd is the girls' celebration day, when hina dolls are the main display.
2a) We celebrate girls on March 3rd, when hina dolls are displayed in many houses.
2b) We celebrate girls on March 3rd, where hina dolls are displayed in many houses.

think 1c is the best.. in my opinion... if only we remove the comma... :D

Doesn't anyone want to answer my question? onegaishimasu.

They are all correct.

Where describes place, when describes time. In the above, since they are all related to time I would say use when instead of where. So 1a, 1c, and 2a are all OK.
I think most English speakers, me included, would be guilty of using "where" in places similar to your 1b and 2b, but if you want to be particular about these things I would stick with "when" to describe an event in time.

In which vs when vs where
