Oh, no, any help at all is brilliant, thank you! I don't have anyone to ask and it's frustrating when parts of a story escape you, so I'm really grateful for the help you guys give here. 
Do 凄みand 凄味 have different meanings? Here, does 凄み mean something like 'intensity'/ 'force' (of their power)? And does 回されている here have a similar meaning to the later used 囲まれてる? (it's surrounding them, or he expects that it will?)
