What to do?

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on this forum, wish i had posted earlier. If anyone is willing to give me some advice on this thread i would be very grateful.

Alittle about me:
im currently studying in London UK, at Middlesex university doing BSc Computer Networks. iv visited Japan twice now (stayed there a total of 2months) and i absolutely love it (faaar better then the UK in many ways), my girlfriend is currently going to Wasada University and has 1 year left, i finish my degree in May (2007).

My problem:
at the moment im in 2 minds about my career choices, i WANT to move to Japan but my poor language skills wont help in getting a job? also i have no idea how to start the process of applying to move to Japan, im just really confused about everything....i need 2 get the ball rolling, can anyone help me?

First off, not knowing Japanese won't present too much of a problem.

Second, you'll need a B.A.

A B.A? uhmm i dont think i want to study any further, i want to start my life im fed up with bookwork.

Any other suggestions?

i was thinking of writing a cover letter + CV and sending it to different Japanese companies, but im sure they dont even take notice of them. my university doesn't cover Japan for graduate placements

Armand's statement about not knowing Japanese is terribly misleading. You won't need any to teach English, which is the easiest job to get for a foreigner. That's not to say you won't need Japanese in daily life. For non-teaching jobs, you will usually need a fairly high fluency in Japanese.

If you have a serious GF who is Japanese and you are thinking about moving here, why don't you study more Japanese?

You want to start your life with a BA degree, no experience, no language skills, and in a foreign land. Good luck. Teaching English is about all you can get. Salaries are 250,000 yen/month and falling.

Technically it'll be a BSc, but its enough to get through Immigration

BA, BS, as long as it's a college degree you can get a job teaching. After you get to Japan, start looking for IT work. There are IT jobs in Tokyo for people that don't speak Japanese, but make sure you start studying since it will be easier if you have a little knowledge.
