About learning Japanese, or Japanese culture? I thought this would be a fun question... hmmmm, I can't really think of anything....

My God. Or Holy Buckets. The second I read the title I knew the poster was you. Where do you come up with these phrases/wordplay? Are they really something people say naturally in your community? Or are you just minting them on the spot? And do you use them in conversation or mostly in written form?

My big gripe about Japan is they are way too far away from Maine. I'm putting in a request to Trump to hook hundreds of tow boats onto Japan and tow it off the coast of Maine. I know he will see the logic in this. My other plan is to offer Godzilla all the Maine lobster he can eat to move it.

That's so funny that you knew it was me right away! They kind of come to me on the spot. I do tend to speak a little goobernese in public from time to time, haha.

This is the cutest post I have seen all day. I'm a huge Godzilla nut.

Ok then you just need to work on your Appalachian accent then. We need to get you into the reality tv circuit.

Man, I'll tell yah what really bacons my bits… AI… man I hate it. It's starting to creep in everywhere and I keep hearing the ol' DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN!
DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN!!

In my head… the soundtrack for Terminator.

Frank took your question to be asking about gripes or irritants about Japan which was also my first thought. But there's another interpretation:

"What Really Sauces Your Patties?" is a figurative way to ask what key things (traditions, idioms, cultural insights, etc.) truly enrich or make the Japanese cultural experience special or flavorful, using the metaphor of sauces as critical to enhancing taste in cuisine.

What was your actual intent?

Oooooo, good point! I didn't think of that! It can be both.

Now I see what you're doing. You're deliberately speaking in code to confuse the AI. Smart.

Oh jeeeez, hahaha. I'll go first! Japan's work culture seems pretty rough and I definitely would NOT survive in a Japanese company.

What is with this guy? What do you all think of this?

Huh… that's weird… I'm not sure where it went. Basically in the video he claims that Japanese people are insecure about being Japanese and try to be white; he goes on to list several examples of this in anime, movies, etc. He's Japanese American and he says Japan is losing itself by trying to be white and adopt euro centric beauty standards.

Well that's nothing new but I feel like maybe it's less so than it used to be? There's more diverse representation now but the beauty industry is still mostly euro-centric.
Here's an old thread on that topic. White skin in Japan

And a thread started by a self-loathing Japanese person.
