What or who is "3連チャン"

I was reading this blog on fishing and cooking where the blogger has this paragraph:

ちょっと遅めの新年会が3連チャン。
飲むのに忙しく更新をさぼっておりましたところ、イン フルエンザに罹りまして、沈んでおりました･･･
5年以上インフルエンザに罹った記憶が無いのですが、あ m実（かくじつ）に回復（体）力が激減しております。
記事が先日の奥多摩山行と前後しますがご容赦ください 。
おまけに今回、飲むのに忙しく写真はございません。ご 了承ください。

I can pretty much understand the rest of the paragraph, but the phrase "3連チャン" has me a bit befuddled. Is it pertaining to something like "bad luck"?

I've tried searches, but I haven't come up with anything conclusive or definitive.

Any assistance is most appreciated. ^/\^

Note: I spelled out "かくじつ" because the characters "確実" wasn't showing up properly in the indented paragraph above when I previewed my post. Weird.

Three in a row. I believe it may be slang from pachinko.

Probably three days in a row rather than three parties in a row in one evening.
......

It's indeed used also for pachinko, but actually the etymology is 連荘（レンチャン） from 麻雀 "mah-jongg".

《(中国語)》マージャンで、親が上がるなどして、同じ親が続くこと。ま た転じて、同じ物事が続くこと。

Thank you, Mike Cash and Toritoribe, for the response and references. I picked up on the mah-jongg reference, but for the life of me, I just couldn't connect, relate, or translate the idea of "3 extended games" in proper context. Thanks to both of you, I have a much better understanding of the phrase. ^_^
