In my textbook,みんなの日本語 is the following reading passage.

「時間が止まってほしいと思う瞬間はどんなときですか」―ある時計の会社が、二十歳の男性と

女性516人に、「時」の意識についてアンケート調査をしました。

what is the meaning of 「時」の意識 is it conscious of time?

I understand the watch company is investigating the moment when people would like time to cease,through the use of a survey, but I'm not clear on this term.
