I would like to know what the difference between the words "dougu" and "dogu" Even though they both mean the samething, why is there an "o" in one ??Is one more common than the other?
Thanks in advance

Looks like you've fallen prey to improper romanization. There is no "dogu" (at least not according to the dictionary).

No....so I can't use the word "dogu"?... Even though I didnt see it on the dictionary, I remember the word being mentioned in google. Oh well,
thank you though

No it wasn't in the dictionary, it was on google when I was searching the word. According to one of the sites that had the word it also means "tool" but I dont know for sure

Tool is 道具(どうぐ).
ど do う u ぐ gu (thus "dougu") though its pronunciation is do-o-gu. ("Dogu" is not correct as it does not show the "o" is long one.)

どうぐ can be written dougu (following the writing) or doogu/dōgu (following pronunciation).

Romaji is merely transliteration of Japanese into Roman alphabets, and there are three systems: Hepburn romanization, Kunrei-shiki, and Nihon-shiki.
