What is the difference between はね and つばさ

Hello,

Please help me with difference in meaning between はね and つばさ.

It seems both can be translated as "wings", but maybe there are some nuances I am not familiar.

Please kindly take a look at sentences below. English translations are mine and possibly wrong.

みると それは いちわの つるで はねに やが ささって とぶ ことが でき ん。

When he looked, it was crane that could not fly, with an arrow stuck in his wing.

つばさを ばたばた させて いたそうに こえ あげ て おった。

It flapping wings and seems to be crying with painful voice.

Your translation is right. 👍

As @orochi says, はね primarily means feather(s).
Since the wings of a bird is covered with feathers, wings are also called はね.
Besides feathers, something small, feather-like in shape and used to fly is also called はね.
せみのはね (cicada's wings)
とんぼのはね (dragonfly's wings)
ちょうのhじゃね (butterfly's wings)
ようせいのはね (fairy's wings)
for example.

つばさ means wings, but they are used only for birds and air planes.
