What have you been doing?

I was wondering if there is a Japanese equivalent to the phrase in English "What have you been up to?/What are you up to this weekend?" for example.

My initial thoughts would be to use "shyuumatsu o shimasu ka" but is there maybe a less formal way of asking? Just for asking generally, what sort of things have you been doing, anything interesting, etc.

I don't know what's usually used, but i'd probable use something along the lines of...

what've you been up to? - 今まで何してあるか。 (Ima made nani shita?)

What're you gonna do this weekend? - 週末にしとくの？ (Shyuumatus ni shitoku[shite oku]no?)

I'm not 100% sure on either of them, though. Opinions?

EDIT: By the way, you do AT/IN the weekend, you don't do the weekend.

Example: Shyukudai o suru = To do homework

どうしてる？or 元気？ is like "What's up?" or "How are you?" "How's it going?" which is what I would personally subsitute for "What have you been doing lately?"


What will you do this weekend ? 今週末、何する（の）？ is pretty casual.

Something involving 予定 starts to raise the formality level for close friends.
