Hopefully someone can answer this simple question, what exactly do Blue reputation blocks mean?

I was watching my daughter check her reputation and someone had added a blue block to her reputation.

Have checked out what is says about Green and Red and Grey blocks in the FAQ, but there is no mention of Blue. And No Im not colour-blind at all :)

WOW, a question I can answer !

When a new member gives rep, it comes out blue/gray looking. Nothing bad, they just have not been around or posted much yet. The longer a member has been around and posted alot, the more rep points he can give.

😌

Thanks for that Uncle Frank, thought I would get the answer from you, or any other of the Mods.

Cheers! :)

i want a blue reputation block its so nice!!😌

they are not worth any points... I don't like them hahah... 😊😊

It's always nice to get points from people, and comments they like your posts! I think it increases the quality of a lot of posters a lot more.

Thanks for that D.B, that explains as to why her Reputation level has stayed still, and not moved like mine. :)

Wasn't rep disabled for a while?
When was it brought back?
I easily miss such basic things as this, sorry.

I want a blue block as well mos, all of mine are a nice dark green, I want a Blue Block!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it gives you a good idea about the poster, if you mix rep-points w/ post count, you get a good idea of what this poster has read, written and experienced on this board.

I'll also add, I do believe that rep-points are rated by the points of those who give them to you, so your rep goes up more if someone with a lot of rep gives you rep, vs a person who has less.

The amount of reputation you will receive from another member is based on how many reputation points that user have in combination with the joining date and number of posts.

To the person who at 19:18 yesterday (15/07/2007) gave me a blue block, I say Thank You. :)

I felt a little green not being a 2003'er, but then I looked and found I was in good company. ;)

Hey, you've been around longer than I have!

I like getting the grey blocks because it shows that the new member is showing enough interest in the system to learn how things work! Kudos to them!

now I'm curious.. are they really blue or grey? since you said you're not color-blind at all...?

:?

Alma, they are blue to my eyes, and I just asked my daughter to look at the block and she says its blue.

so if they are blue, not gray, why are you satisfied with this answers? obviously everybody's talking about gray ones.

I have some green and some gray, this is how they look like

Maybe it depends on your monitor?

I see it as blue.

It's marginal I'd say but blue just edges it for me:
