i think there is a term "japanophile" or something similar.. and i can't say i am one of that group.
i'm not a manga geek, don't looooove j-pop, idols, etc, etc.

but japan has been on the edge of my radar since i was a kid, and now i am here.

you know, now that i think about it, i would like to know what my fascination is with japan!

i also do like japan n japanese

I have always had an interest in Japan and Japanese things. It is the one thing that has been able to help me keep my focus or regain it. I love the food, culture, history. My two favorite things are the Language and the Martial Arts.

I love japan much. I have been here almost 8 years.
I love japan itself, the japanese and also the culture.
Now, I am learning japanese martial art called aikido.

I love to know more about budo spirits....samurai spirits.

anyone could show me the way?

Tradition

Well, traditional medicine and foods.

Tradition in general.

Mentality.

Zen way of life.

My interests for Japan are the culture, the language and of course, the anime. Back then in my childhood years, I always watched those cute anime and I was so attracted to the drawings and characters with cute actions. On the day that I visited Japan with my own eyes, I totally fell in love with this country..... I wish to go back again...

Well ...

I always had some sort of a Japanese mentality.

A common thing, for instance, is, I always liked salt. It means I have a natural inclination for balancing Yin and Yang foods.

Psychologically I am very Japanese too, but not like modern Japanese, I mean like the old folks. Silence is my word.

I learned martial arts in my teenage years.

I like Japanese anime, as well as Japanese traditional culture. Many of my friends like Japanese literature.

I suppose....

All I can say, is that I like Japan in general (the people, the clothing, literature, culture, religion, etc), and I wouldn't mind being Cristian & Buddhist at the same time, as long as I'm accepted. I've always wanted to learn the Japanese Tea ceremony, let alone meet a native in person. Salt is fun to use in food, I've always and still use salt in a lot of my food for balance. I find that everything in Japan has it's own reason to be admired.

My dislikes -about anywhere- are bars and drugs as they damage the soul at man along with the body it possesses. Now, give me some (what was it called, soumen?) and a cup of tea & I'll be satisfied.

What are we looking for

Unlike in the US, Fencing is not taught in schools. European youths therefore have to turn to Japanese martial arts if they want to perpetuate the Chivalry spirit and discipline. Chinese martial arts are quasi absent from our shores.

The western culture has many gaps. It has tried to impose itself as a package deal to everyone, including our own selves. No one has to take the whole for granted.

Up from the medieval era, only a tiny fringe inside the Freemasonry dealt with chemistry and pharmacy. Those were not even Freemasons, but Rosicrucian mystics. Today those have tried to take over and corrupt the whole Free masonic family.

Moreover, Christianity was not the true tradition of the West. Before then, we had all over the northern nations, France and England where Celts settled, cults of nature very similar to Shinto. That breed of mysticism has much more value and benefits that all the Blah Blah disseminated by Rosicrucians, who represent Egyptian traditions.

My interest in japan came from watching anime and manga, specifically slice of life and school based anime. Ever since then, I have basically though about Japan every day and I look forward to next year when I can finally go there, to celebrate then end of my high school education!!!

I will do the same two years from July 20th this year, that way, as the 10th anniversary of my father's demise I will have fulfilled my destiny to study architecture (July 20th, 2014). I've always been fascinated by the Japanese-styled architecture, so that is why I chews Kyoto-U for my Universal studies.

It first started by watching anime and manga, then I got interested in the language by watching anime.. Then I discovered that Maki is my favorite food... etc.
Haha.. The story has no ending

Nor should it! An excellent jump into Japanese culture. Say, could I recommend you watch the anime, "Genshiken", and watch the drama, "Densha Otoko"? They're both awesome and well worth the watch, especially "Densha Otoko".
