Hi Tomii, greetings and welcome. Well, i'm half-Vietnamese actually and was born in Saigon in 1971 but much to the shame of my mother, my language ability is limited to what's on the menu.

I can learn whatever I want. -_- I'm learning 6 languages at the same time, and I don't get them mixed up, and I'm doing fine in ALL of them. So, please don't critisize (or however you spell it) me.

One suggests you try to get proficient in English spelling and grammar.
I'm sorry if I sound blunt and offensive, but trying to learn a language isn't like trying to ride a bike. You need time for the information to sink in, especially with a language such as japanese or korean that both use a different writing system. Poeple here are not going out of their way to criticise you for your need to learn languages, but slow down. Starting up chat threads for a language that you hardly know yourself is not a good way to go. At least try to learn basic grammar and rules before trying to engage in chat, which could end up with you not knowing what someone else is talking about and make a fool of yourself. I do speak from experience, because at your age I was learning French and German at school while trying Russian, Welsh and Gaelic. Overload was understating it, especially with school work.

Yes, I understand where you're coming from. I know how to read Korean (which was very easy to learn, actually) and I worked hard learning Japanese writing system, but now I know it all (well, hiragana and katakana. obvioslly i don't know all kanji...i hardly know any XD) But, in school I have French 1. But, I have at least 1 friend from each language I'm trying the learn (besides spanish and french) , but I think I can comunicate pretty well, while learning when I speak ina certain language with my friends. I'm learning Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, French, Spanish, and Swedish. And I probabaly will start learning a new one. And Swedish seems to by pretty easy to remmber, besides the "a" and "the" and plural! XD

I don't mind how many languages you are learning, but if you're serious about it, find and post comments in Vietnamese in a forum with members who speak the language. The same for other languages you're learning. 🙂

Funny,it's interestingly awkward to read some foreigners wanting to learn the language as I recall my father forked out tons of money paid for mine and elder siblings yearly tuitions for private Chinese language schooling so his children could stay as culturally ethnic Chinese.:D
