I agree that if you allow yourself to be a booty call, that is a choice that you make but it doesnt mean you arent being used. It just means you are allowing yourself to be used.
Seems somewhat contradictory to say that allowing yourself to be used is not being used. Sure there is a difference, but there is still potential there for feeling abused later, if and when someone changes their mind and begins to look back on the situation with regret and bitterness.
Your sentence also seems rather pessimistic. My GF and I are NOT using eachother. We have a mutual understanding and similar/compatible wants, desires and needs.
because that person will likely never give you what you want.
Agreed up to that point. I have changed my mind about women before. I think plenty of women have taken their chances with a man who says they don't want a deep relationship, but only sex, and wound up getting married with him. Its just that no one ever says their relationship began with just casual sex. They cover that up. The only time you ever hear about it is when someone is complaining that so and so is a jerk who only wanted sex so there was a break-up.
I think it would be called confirmation bias? This topic is RIFE with it. People don't talk about certain aspects except in negative situations. Therefore, it looks like situation is always a negative.
An excellent example is that women tend to not talk about their sex lives with us men at all. And generally if we do hear about it, its because of bad experiences, whether it was getting used, groped, raped, or if some guy was too rough or something like that. We don't hear about how so and so was great in the sack, or what position she likes, or if she came last night half as much. Result: It appears, especially to us guys, that women don't like sex or don't like it very much.
Example: I was once on a packed train that just kept getting more packed. There was a woman with her back to me. When people got on, she backed up and so did I, but soon I had nowhere to go and it got so packed I could not even turn around. The woman had her butt (and it was a nice butt) shoved right in my groin. I tell people about this experience and I admit I liked it. But do you think she does? Do you think there is a chance at all that she liked it? I don't see why not. But I doubt she will ever tell.
And if she does? It will most certainly be a complaint. And while she might mean it, another woman in the same situation would enjoy, and never talk about it.
Im more than willing to have an intelligent, rational, grown up conversation but Im not going to continue a discussion when someone tries to insult me and others just because we disagree with them.
Bullocks. I did not insult you, I asked you for proof of your contentions. You are just embarrassed because the only link you offered proved mine. And now you don't want to admit it.
The only one insulting you is yourself. I know I can be gruff, rude and direct. But I was not any of those things to you in that thread except to ask for proof rather than a random opinion. I don't believe you are that thin-skinned. I think you are ashamed as if it would kill you to admit your error.
