You can write both, too.

When we write "TATAKAU" in Kanji, generally we write 戦う.
As your wish you can use 闘う.

When we write SAGASU in kanji, we write 探す.

It depends on the context.
When we write "聴く" ... for example ...
ラジオを聴く / I listen to the radio.
I can't give you another example.

so I thought that sagashimono is written 捜し物 and the verb 探す

それにもう一つ、どの次の二つの文章は正しいですか。
「私はうちにいすで座る」
「私はうちでいすに座る」

Yo! Hmm, are you a Mac user by any chance? The default character encoding isn't being handled very well in this forum at the moment so most users have drifted into using Western European encoding but some browsers (Safari 1.2.3) don't 'do' Japanese unless in Japanese encoding.

[EDIT] Well I still don't like it - but apparently the bit inside the 「」's was alright.

Well one thing I've picked up is that you don't いすで for 座るing.
So, having double checked with Google, I'm pretty sure the second sentence is better.

I got JLPT level 2 a couple of years or so back. However I also know something that you dont ... If you have a recent Windows Media Player you can play it back at reduced speed

For _real_ .wav files the tone is distorted down, but with .mp3 etc that doesn't happen. (BTW, many .wav files are actually .mp3 in disguise... :? )

Although a grammar dictionary will have better coverage - for example it's (as you can see above) usually used in a negative context.

follow her:彼女に追いつく、彼女についていく.
So, 追いつくことすらできない is also OK.
Basically, you are right. But you made a small error.
Have you noticed it yet?

追いつけることすらできない is not OK.
Because 追いつけることすらできない has too many 窶冂an窶?
（「追いつける=can follow」「できない=can not」）

聞き取れなかったのは「時計塔(a clock tower)」「過ぎた(pass by)」「道に沿って進んで(go along the street)」「噴水(a fountain)」「修理工場(a repair shop)」ですね。
すごい！
