Tourism Trial run: Japan to allow small tourist groups in spring

Asahi reported that the government considers allowing small groups of tourists from Asian countries into Japan.

They have to

• travel on a chartered vehicle, such as a bus
• move separately from other groups of foreign tourists
• present certificates showing that they tested negative for the coronavirus
• purchase travel medical insurance before their arrival
• disclose their activity plans for their stay
• separate themselves from Japanese travellers at a hotel or a tourist destination
• use a contract-tracing app to confirm if they were exposed to anyone infected
• use the LINE app to report their health condition
