Hi Everyone.. My name is Andy.. currently living in Australia.. I have been accepted for an unpaid internship in Japan, Kyoto ..

I am planning to stay for 3 months from February to March.. I got some questions before I travel..

1. I am planning to use my iphone.. from my knowledge I can only get data or voice plan for prepaid.. is that true? and which one would you recommend the best?

2. Should I bring cash to stay there for 3 months? or is there a way where I can withdraw money from my Australian Bank? Sorry for the novice question.

3. How cold is the weather in February?

Thats all my question.. It is very daunting for me to travel to a foreign country where I cannot speak the language.. but I enjoy the thrill and experience and I believe I will learn a lot. Thanks for the help... :)

that's only 2 months max. When are you going to be here again?

I don't know. Perhaps others can help you. You may have to buy a short-term phone here.

We can't answer that without knowing your bank. Ask them! I'd want to be safe with enough cash for a fast exit, so yes, bring some.

3. How cold is the weather in February?
Have you checked Google?
Let me google that for you

Thanks for the reply Glenski.. Ah I had a typo.. I meant to say February to May..

I found this data sim card that will works well with my iphone.. problems is I can only buy it from yodobashi or biccamera.. do you know if there is a similar shop in Osaka Kansai or Tennoji that sell the the sim card? below is the link:
http://www.yodobashi.com/日本通信-BM-FRM-1GBM-b-mobile-1GB定額パッケージ-マイクロSIM/pd/100000001001414115/

My internship is in wazuka.. so I will be travelling to Tennoji then change to Kamo.. so a shop along the way will be a great idea..

Oi, Andy. Aussie here too mate.

For question number 2 about money. I looked up on Whirlpool and found out that CitiBank Plus offers free overseas withdrawal with Visa Debit card, and 28 Degrees with Master Card. Double check on terms and conditions and the folks on Whirlpool and good luck!

Hi Hwalong.. thanks for the reply.. Yeah I just found it 2 days ago.. and I already applied for it :).. hopefully I will get it before the Japan Trip..

I only applied for citibank plus as I only need to use my savings account over there.. so 28 degrees card is not needed..
