Translation needed

Well basically , "nothing to lose" means that someone cannot cause any disadvantages for themselves by doing a particular thing.
And "Everything to gain" usually is used in conjunction "nothing to lose", so it basically means similar to the above by having only advantages for themselves by doing a particular thing.
