Dear native English speakers,

I have a question.

Which would be usedツ? Do they have almost the same meaning?
ツ(a) Tom and Mary live around here.
(b) Tom and Mary live near here.
(c) Tom and Mary live in this neighborhood.
(d) Tom and Mary live around this neighborhood.
(e) Tom and Mary live near this neighborhood.
(f) Tom and Mary live in this area.
(g) Tom and Mary live around this area.
(h) Tom and Mary live near this area.

Thanks in advance.

A throught e are about the same. C is different it says that they live in the neighborhood rather than close to it. Area is slightly different than neighborhood, neighborhood is a community usually consisting of a couple of blocks that are either owned by the same company or are part of a community. An area on the other hand implies a larger space, usually a few neighborhoods or the area surrounding a paticular neighborhood. Think google maps, if you zoom in on a block or 2 you have a neighborhood. Zoom out a couple times and that is the area near that neighborhood.

Thanks for the help, OoTmaster. Now I can see the meaning of "neighborhood".
