Tourism Tokyo Disney Resort operator considering ticket price reduction for theme parks

Tokyo Disney Resort's operator is considering the possibility of reducing ticket prices in response to a decline in discretionary spending driven by inflation, company President Wataru Takahashi said on Friday. Oriental Land Co. is expected to explore either lowering admission fees or modifying the current pricing structure for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, where ticket prices typically vary based on anticipated demand. Currently, a one-day adult ticket for either park, both located in Urayasu near Tokyo, ranges from 7,900 yen (approximately $55) to 10,900 yen.

Takahashi's remark came as Oriental Land considers a large-scale redevelopment of parts of its parks under the company's long-term business strategy through fiscal 2035. Speaking about the company's cruise ship, slated to start operating in fiscal 2028, Takahashi, who was appointed president and chief operating officer on 1 April, told reporters that the company aims to get it "on track."
