A large fountain installation, described as one of the biggest of its kind, began operating in Tokyo's Odaiba district on 28 March, as the metropolitan government looks to revive the waterfront area and attract more visitors. The attraction, called Tokyo Aqua Symphony, features powerful vertical water jets that reach about 150 metres. It is intended as a new draw for the Bay Area. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government developed the project as part of wider efforts to boost activity in the district. The fountain held its first full-scale performance on 28 March, marking the official start of the water show.
