Today was my first time making sushi! ^_^ wasss fuuuuuuunnn i have quote "a knack for it" unquote. got my own special chopsticks, rice bowl and im gettin baught a rollin' mat soon so i can make it when ever i wish.
by the way, yous like my new raveging ape pic? (see right)

and can i ask: what is that Kanji under me personalised bit and above the pic
 
Congrats on the sushi fella!!

Don't worry about the kanji under your name - the forum software here's notoriously bad at translating our user names into Japanese.

Mine reads 'stone maiden' or so I'm told, and yours means, well, that monkey of yours sure is attracted to the shadows!!...

Yeah, well done on the sushi. I've yet to make sushi. Now... Onigiri, I can do! lol.
 
Hehe. I noticed the little onigiri in your signature. I can't make ones like that. I literally make balls... or disk shaped ones. I can't make triangle ones.

What kind of sushi did you make?

i dont know if there's a word for it lol XD we jus put random stuff in it...
salmon, peppers etc etc and yes ofcourse there was rice und de seeveed!
 
Oooh. Nori!!! Haha. I'm gonna make some with Chicken in it someday... when I learn how. Haha.
 
I just got back from there!!! Well... near there... haha. I went close to Edinburgh... actually went to North Berwick. Stayed in Seahouses though, just south of the border. Haha.
 
Hehe. I was just going to explain that I figured that out when noticing that mine and MOS's Kanji were the same. Haha.

Haha. You sneak!!! Yeah... I had sort of guessed anyway (this sounds so bad... but it's actually true) but I wanted to see how long you could keep it up for. You got outed by Mycernius. Haha.

Yeah... back to the riceballs and sushi. Anybody else made stuff like that? I put grapes in my rice balls... for the fun of it. I'm gonna try Cherries and stuff. Fruit in the riceballs, meat in the sushi... sounds good!
 
I've made sushi a number of times. Plus I bought a book on Japanese cooking. I made some for New Years Eve (which my brother and I promptly ate most of it)

Where did you buy the book? A major chain store or just a local store?

I always buy my books online, much cheaper. Try play.com (from them or the sellers where it says 'New from...', both are free p&p)
 
Play and amazon are good, but waterstones and other bookshops are more spur of the moment.
 
Haha. Yeah. I usually go Ebay anyway. Much cheaper still!
