Me too. The last time I communicated with TIT (not counting those with my professors and future research mates) was when I submitted via e-mail my Pledge of Statement. That was March 8. I didn't even get a reply confirming they received my Pledge of Statement.

Its not. But it also happened to me last time when they sent a mail last March. It wasn't traceable at first but after a day it became traceable.

Last time I waited until mext result but dorm application is closed, dorm application actually starts when university accepted you.

Hmmm..This alarms me a bit. thank you for that notice. Yeah, I notice in the application document too, that applications starts 5 months prior. Hmmmm..

You could check with the univ admission office if dorm is still opened for application, and if not, ask them to suggest where to look or a few agents you could contact to get a place to stay.

According to the documents, dorms will be allocated to new students and the notification will be sent around late August.

Hey guys,
Are you looking for apartments/dorms already? I am not sure if it's best to stay in the dorms or better find something on my own. I heard that some of the dorms have pretty strict rules. Also, living a flat share or so might be a good opportunity to get in touch with some of the locals. It's probably a bit more expensive, though. What do you think?

Starting off in a dorm is probably best. Avoids all the hassle and expenses of finding and renting a good place. With the security deposit, key money, advance rent, broker fees, the initial cost of renting a flat can get very high. On the other hand, It seems Tokyo tech only allows foreign students to stay in University allocated dorms for only the first year, so you eventually have to move out anyway.

It also seems like most of the dorms are kind of far away from the Ookayama campus (40min+) except for one women-only dorm. Which dorms are you guys applying for?
