if you haven't gotten an interview call that more possibly means you haven't cleared the first screening process right? because i haven't gotten a reply or any response from the university of the professor?May we all get the best

Fawadosman, I think you should contact your professor first, asking about that
so the assistant professor from my advisor's lab emailed back to me once i asked him about my status and he says that he got my status checked from the admin office and i will get the offical reply in the first week of March. i don't know what he means by that. I haven't given any interview yet!! does that mean its just going to be a rejection? I really hope there s still a chance for me out there.
I'll write his text in quotes "I have asked the Titech Office your state. They said that they will inform you about passing or not after 5th March officially. Please wait for a while."

Well, it really seems weird but maybe the process is different in your department. You could write him again asking specifically about your concern with the interview.
Another option could be asking directly to the Admission Office, but I'm not sure whether your professor or the Admission Office itself would like that. I hope someone here can give you a better advice.

I also just got my result.. almost can't believe it I have accepted as mext sch student.. thanks God.. I hope anyone in this forum that have been "struggle" a lot in this "scholarship pursuit", also got their best..
But I have too wait for the official result from MEXT, as this is the result from Titech (recommend me as sch student to mext), hope everything will be ok.. ameen..

I got notification from Sensei by email (late December) explaining that I've been chosen as one of the MEXT candidates and the probability is very high.
If I succeed I'll join Dept. Value & Decision Science this fall semester

I didn't received such great news about the scholarship right now, but still, I may go to Titech this October. If you could give me your opinion about going as a PFS, I would appreciate it.

Hi Rehaa. Going as PFS is ok as long as you can afford it. But did you know that there is many scholarship offered for PFS, such as from Jasso (honor scholarship for PFS, check here Reservation Program for Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students (June 2012 EJU)-JASSO), and the others are scholarship offered by the university itself (I don't know the detail, may you could ask your sensei), or by private/public institutions. Hi Rehaa! famous universities like waseda, keio, todai, tokodai sure have many options of After Arrival Scholarship
Even the amount is bigger than monbusho!
I think every sensei will try their best to provide their students some scholarship links.
As for JASSO, I think it will cover 70% of your living cost in Tokyo (the rent cost in Tokyo is definitely higher T,T)
I can survive in Kanazawa with 80,000 because the rent cost+water+gas only 15.000 yen/ month

My sensei said "To be rigid, what was decided at this moment is that our university will recommend you to the MEXT as a scholarship student. The official final decision will be made by the MEXT. To be very rigid, thus, there is still a chance of a turnover. But there was no such instance before, and we are not worrying about that. The probability of such incident is very very low."
So just let's hope for the best

first of all congratz for your achievement,
anw i want to ask some question, i also apply for IGP (A) at Industrial Engineering Dept, whiches at the same triplehelix graduate school. i have done the interview on december 2012, and my associate prof said overall is good, but honestly im still no sure abt my result, am i nominated as MEXT candidate or not.
if i not wrong you already got notification from your professor that you already nominated as MEXT candidate, right? what i want to ask is, before you got the notif, are you asked to the professor first or your professor emailed you first abt the MEXT candidate notif? because i havent got any notif abt MEXT sch candidate yet.
and how much the quota of MEXT candidate of each department?
