Is that supposedly in the spot where it happened? I think it was Uesugi's force that snuck down the mountain at night and hit the Takeda flank (who was expecting his "woodpecker" force to drive the Uesugi down the mountain and into a trap). I know the one guy (Uesugi?) broke through the lines and actually swung his weapon at the other daimyo (Takeda?), who fended the blow off with his war fan.
I'm reading "The Samurai Banner of FU-RIN-KA-ZAN" for Yasushi Inoue, it's one hell of an interesting read. Hiroyuki, thanks for the link. But is that like a museum or is it just a statue in a park? I just wanna know if it's worth the trip...
