would you correct these sentences if needed?

They did more than just rebuild a bridge between the two villages. They also brought plenty of food enough for the villagers to live for the time being. (Does it depend on the context whether to use "a bridge" or "the bridge"?)

Yes. The meanings are different.

You should say, "They also brought plenty of food (enough) for the villagers to live on for the time being."

If you use the word "plenty", the word "enough" is redundant. It is better to say:

"They also brought plenty of food for the villagers to live on for the time being."
or
"They also brought enough food for the villagers to live on for the time being."
