クロネコヤマト from 807093184806 just called me and gave me a recorded message. It started immediately and talked for one minute in Japanese and Chinese and then hung up. I called kuroneko and quoted my phone number and they know nothing. I am not going to do anything more about this. Has this happened to anyone else? If it a package delivery notice then it is not very polite since it didn't give me a second to work out what it was all about nor give the message in English and other languages.

It's a typical 詐欺電話/メール fraud call/mail. It has nothing to do with クロネコヤマト. The only one thing you should do is just ignoring it.

How is it supposed to work? They used their contact number as caller ID, What Japanese person is actually be listening to verbal diarhea from a machine voice?

I would never ever answer a caller I don't know. I receive at least one spam call/message a day and block them religiously. There are several online phone directories that list phone numbers used in scams.

I answered a phone call from JEEP the company that supports JLPT- I didn't know their telephone number.

You were just lucky.

They got information that your phone number is really used. You might receive similar fraud phone calls/mails repeatedly and frequently from now on. That's exactly happened to one of my fellow traders. He received an absence notification from ゆうパック (delivery service by Japan Post). Unfortunately, he was incidentally scheduled to receive a parcel at that day, so he responded to it. After all, he had to change his cell phone number. (He informed me of his new number, and told the reason.)

Yes, for example, the following one.

Scammer randomly call me occasionally. It is kuroneko's number 807-93194806- sure it possible to fake a caller iD but sounds pointless when your inital call is achieves nothing. My mother-in-law received. a parcel though no idea why she would set my number as the contact.

Well, a proverb has just come to my mind; 大山鳴動して鼠一匹,,,.

No junk calls. Just as much silence on my mobile phone as ever.
