the little pleasures in life

Making a to do list for the day and being able to check off 50% of it within an hour (but now comes the hard part haha)

*Walking in the rain (... but not in Osaka)

Davey,
Why not in Osaka?

* Waking up on my sailboat in Julian Bay on Stockton Island in Lake Superior!
* Drinking hot cocoa while watching it snow
* Watching the sunrise or set! :)

+1 for Dutch cheese (Davey)
and +1 for shooting (Uncle Frank). Technically, I like looking at the mechanics of guns more than shooting paper targets, but close enough. I do shoot.

I will add-
Cooking something successfully after many failed attempts.
Dogs being walked in the streets of my city, who seem to be perpetually in a good mood. (I'm jealous).
Figs.
Hearing an old song on the radio that I haven't heard for ages.
Warm and brightly lit cafes on cold, windy, gloomy nights.
Chinese characters and kanji.
Laughing when your friend does something illogical and spontaneous.
Reading by the fireplace.
My wife's smile.

Some of my little pleasures in life:

Cooking a meal for family and friends and getting good responses
Lounging by a fire with a cup of spiked eggnog, listening to Michael Buble
Getting a new suit tailored
Reloading my Smith & Wesson 9mm SD9
Making someone smile
Successfully finishing a Crossfit workout (even though I can barely breathe)

dunno just live cos i be alive, not sommat id be all that sad to see go though, ill aksept me fate, whatever it is

I've just been for a 14km run around Shinjuku. Beautiful conditions. Cold and bright. No wind. Just me and my ipod and lap of two of Japan's parks

Back to the hotel for coffee and muffins. A nice way to start a day

Like many others I like walking in rain. Also food. The simplest and greatest of all pleasures.

* a walk on the beach after an autumn storm
* Watching a good movie in the cinema (sometimes by myself)
* Kissing/sex in a purikura booth
* Getting out of a 3 hour business meeting and feeling the cold wind blowing against my cheeks

I am at the airport and I have just seen someone slip on a banana. Not right over, just a little slip.

He dropped it then stepped back onto it. I thought the whole banana skin slip was the reserve of cartoons.

I am pleased its not.

adrenaline, especially after unexpectable fail :D

booze - i like rum, rum and coke, rum and black, beer, vodka and cranberry, vodka and blueberry

@Wardie1993 Wow, never tried those before but I'm sure that would pleasure me a lot.

*To spend time with the one you love, even though it's just 1 minute.

To start learning something new and find that its easier then you thought!

In my case its Python.

• I love when it rains. The sound of it hitting my window, the wonderful white noise of it hitting the road or the roof of my house/car. I truly am my happiest when it's raining.

• Overcast weather. Also, the sound of wind and/or thunder. Anything stormy.

• I love it when I'm practicing Japanese and I feel like I'm really getting it. I've never tried learning a language before, and it feels incredible when I hear or say something, and understand it without having to give it any thought. It's very rewarding!

• I really enjoy practicing my Japanese while I ride my bike (normally every day, but not so much lately) on this old path. The path itself is pretty crappy, but it's usually empty, and it's pretty far from where anyone can hear you as it cut through walled-off fields, so I have 8 or so miles of listening to Japanese recordings and practicing my vocabulary and pronunciation. I just hope I never get jumped.

• I like helping people and making them happier. I want to go through life hearing "thank you" a lot (not in a selfish way).

A cup of sencha in the morning, and the air conditioning unit I have in my bedroom. I forgot what it felt like to have it! I've been dealing with 90-100+ Fahrenheit weather each summer for the past five years. It's so darn cool..

Today, it actually started raining while I was on my bike ride. Aside from being cold and feeling a little miserable riding 10 miles with the wet and soppy clothes, it was a pleasant, relaxing surprise!

Forgot to mention: Another wonderful little pleasure in life is when I pour my boiling water into any instant ramen meal I want, forget about it, and then remember it again once it's totally done and ready to eat. It's almost as exciting as finding money in my pockets -- Finding a nice little present from my past self.

It's only at times like these where I'm actually thankful for my horrible memory.

Little pleasures??

a clean guitar with brand new unplayed strings that are shiny and smooth.

That first sip of coffee in the morning.

Hearing a woman laugh.

That first sip of Scotch in the evening. (hahaha)

Clean and cool bedsheets

a cat that purrs when it's near you,..but only seems to purr for you.

Good food when you're very hungry.

A good book that makes the real world disappear.

....lots of simple little pleasures in life I suppose.
Best to appreciate them all really.

Listening to good jazz music during work to make the hard working day a bit more fun.

Smoking a big fat cigar every blue moon. Green tea. Warm laundry just out of the dryer.
