The JET program. Realistic expectations of entry.

Hello all. Right now I'm going for either a lower cost (due to the closeness of the college) Asian Studies Major and Japanese minor, or a full Japanese major at a college farther away. I haven't quite decided yet, however I do plan to go for a masters later in either, and apply to the JET program.

I'm wondering though, how realistic of expectations should I have of actually getting into the JET program? Are the odds impossible, or quite realistic? I'm hoping that some of you might have had experience with the JET program yourself, or maybe are in it at this moment.
