who reconed the gruge was da coolest movie ever it was awsome

i loved it


my fav part was nere the end where the lady came out of the bag and had blood all over her and then karen tryed to burn the house down but then the stupid police got it put out. arhhh o well cant wait 4 number 2 to come out.

this is the story line of village cinema site:


It might look like your average suburban Tokyo home but terror lurks within. The house is contaminated by a violent plague that destroys the lives of everyone who enters, causing them to die as they're consumed by an all-powerful rage.
Once a victim is snared, a new curse is born and passed to the next person who enters, resulting in a never-ending chain of horror.

When American exchange student Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) innocently agrees to cover for a nurse who didn't show up for work, she visits the patient's house and discovers a frail old woman lost in a catatonic state. The rest of the house appears deserted and in decay.

When Karen investigates a sound upstairs, she is faced with a supernatural horror more frightening than she can imagine. And after she learns the secret of the vengeful curse, it will be up to her to contain the virus before the carnage spreads.

Based on the Japanese blockbuster Ju-On: The Grudge, the original director Takashi Shimizu returns to preside over this powerful thriller.
 
YEAH, I liked it....but I wouldn't say it was the coolest ever...NO.

Just...erm....a good film! 😊

do you mean the second American one? If so, then I would like to see that too if it comes out, as I am curious whether it is just like the Japanese version... :-)

The Japanese version, Ju-On 2 is scary too!! And if you haven't seen it, you should!
 
I really want to see the Japanese versions! I might even see 'The Ring 2' (American) when it comes out...I'm not sure yet
 
I thought Ringu and Ju-On were both very funny films.

I honestly didnt realize they were horror flicks until after watching them people told me so. They're just so laughable.

I think it might have something to do with the way American cinema depicts "horror" versus the Japanese idea of horror
 
Well the American versions were ever more laughable.

I just always find myself laughing at Japanese horror flicks. They seem to have this fixation on shock tactics, and gore, and for me, I prefer sublime fear. The kind that goes into thinking about.
 
I'm sorry I had to vote no..because since I watched it I haven't been able to sleep..its a good movie for those who like horror, but for someone like me its my worst nightmare..I keep getting all paranoid and I have to keep the lights on at all times..I was seriously freaked out by this movie although I know there are freakier ones out there..hopefully I won't be soo scared soon cuz I need to get sleep..otherwise I think its a good movie..

If you like sublime fear in horror films, which makes you think and is artistically made regarding plot and scenery, you might enjoy a Korean film called Tale of Two Sisters, or the Chinese film: Inner Senses if you haven't watched them already.

These two films are not "fixated" on blood, gore and black-haired women in white clothes, as they are what people may call pscychological horror.

its ok me my brother and his friend sarah went to see it together and it scared the sh*t out of her (sarah) every time it came to a scary part she say sh*t or ****, grab my shirt or screem. it was funny to see her scared but she said she is not gonna see it at the cinimas again cas there to dark. lol

but remember its only a movie and its not real and its in japan and they stoped the house from burning down so who nose

ya the japanese version of the grudge is alot better, the english one has animated stuff in it...

thanks..we'll I've been feeling better about it..I've actually been able to sleep, but I still keep the light on..and now I even get to scare one of my friends about what happened at the beginning when that one girl went to the attic...that freaked me out, but it wasn't as bad as the rest of the movie...hopefully someday I'll be able to sleep with the light off..lol ^^

Seen them. Didnt care much for Tale of Two Sisters, but Inner Senses was okay.

its been weeks and even though I'm not really that scared anymore..I still can't sleep without the light on..pathetic isn't it...
 
Well, comparing the American version to the Japanese one. I liked the American one better.

The Japanese version seemed to cluttered and confusing. You really had to pay attention to get the grasp and understand what was going on. To where you could simply relax and not have to worry about catching every line said and every scene gone by to understand what is going on.
 
itoh misaki is one fine long legged joka! i jumped at the bedcover scene, but that was it
