Brilliant Green

I am a recent fan of the band The Brilliant Green and especially love the songs Bye My Boy and It's Up To You.

What other bands are like them ??

🙂

I guess there is no artist who has something like their style in Japan.
Tommy, the vocal of brilliant Green has another unit called 'Tommy's February', you know, but has quite a different style. :)

Tommy February6 released a new single today, titled Je'taime Je'taime.

The Brilliant Green are quite unique in their sound. You could try listening to Love Psychedelico and perhaps Garnet Crow, but they're not quite the same.

afaik, there is no Japanese music group like TBG. nothing comes close.

i'm a BuriGuri fan for more than 5 years. I hope before I die, i can see them play live in New York City. i'd pay $100 just to see them.

i also like Every Little Thing (ELT), Day After Tomorrow (DAT) and Do As Infinity.

if you want to sample mp3s of the groups i mentioned, try IRC (internet relay chat).

Count me in. I am also a fan of the brilliant green.
I have just listened to one of their songs though, 'sono super-do de' (そのスピードで), a soundtrack of the drama 'overtime.'

A really nice song. Especially the lyrics.
In the age of crappy, lousy lyrics, I thot this song has pretty good meaningful lyrics.

And, of course, their sound is so different from the rest of the bands.

悲しみの翼を。。。♪♪

hi.. i like Brilliant Green too :)

and i think bands that sounds like them are Do As Infinity, Every Little Thing.. blend of Jpop&rock band w/ female on vocal :)

i like Brilliant Green as well, i think they sound a bit like Bonnie Pink or Every Little Thing ^^

My first Buri Guri song was Angel Song, which I've heard from a drama, so I liked it even more (you know how if you hear the song in a drama or series you tend to like it more), so that got me interested in the group more. I think Tommy February6 is nice with the 80s touch (not to mention Tomoko looking really cute with her outfits and glasses), but the great songs still from Buri Guri

by now most fans know about the big news. well, for those who don't, Tomoko Kawase (vocals) married Shunsaku Okuda (bassist/leader) on Nov. 22, 2003. in July of this year, the other guy, Ryo Matsui married some jewellery designer. in a letter to the public, they reassured fans that BG will not break up and will continue to make good music in the years to come.

now if only Tomoko would take a break from her side projects and work on a BG single and perhaps, an album for next year. :)

if you can read Japanese, here is where most fans got the news from:

I've come across a song by The Brilliant Green - Rainy Days Never Stays
This is a song in 2002, and I find this song familiar, does anyone knows? Most probably it's an English song.

You can find the song in the following URL:

I don't believe it was a cover. Can't remember how the song went, but at the time it was released i didn't recognize it as a song i had heard before.

@Link...
Eow! Realplayer alert!!!

A quick check on a J-Pop lyrics site shows that the credits on that song go to brilliant green members...

Lyrics: Tomoko Kawase
Music: Shunsaku Okada

So it doesn't look like a cover to me, either...

hey thanx!! I've also found out fromt e web, its composed by them, wow!!!
this song is great!! 👍
