Well I've lived in this area for quite a while, and while venturing out into the deep woods a few days ago, I seen a man dressed like it was the 1600's riding in a carriage going down the road in the opposite lane. I thought perhaps he was a display for a fair or perhaps a festival in town...

However as I drove deeped into the woods, I noticed many of them are moving in this region out in the more isolated areas.

I had heard about them in school, but never actually seen them... when I drove past there houses I felt as if I was watching some old western movie. Simple log cabins, animals, home made fences and barns and they were all wearing the same type of clothes that they do in the old witch burning movies.

I did some research on this and apparently there a group of people who refuse to adopt to modern lifestyle and live like its 200 years ago or so. Which I thought odd to say the least...

Yeah ... those Amish are old-world folk not enticed by modern wonders.Their strict religious practices and have no thirst for material things fascinated me for awhile.

Most younger generation fluent in Swiss-German language,some elders have funny accent speaking English.
