taking only a few uni. courses (for credit)

Hello,

Does anybody here know of any universities that allow non-students to take a few classes? I need to take a few math classes before applying to a uni. in the US and I'd like to take them here in Japan before going home. Thanks in advance.

When I was a student there back in the day, anyone could attend any class at Sophia University's International division (where all classes are taught in English) in Tokyo as an "auditor" without receiving credit. The price is much cheaper and may be just what you're looking for. Also you may want to look into International Christian University (ICU) in Tokyo also. They may also allow you to "audit" classes.

Thanks for the answer, but I'm looking for a class that I can take for a letter grade and receive credit for. (I plan to go back to the USA for either an MA or second BA and I need the classes to transfer)

Some schools in the US allow outsiders to take classes, i.e. the California State Universities' Open University program where you can take any classes you want as long as there's space left.
