Sony Walkman X

[Tokugawa Ieyasu]

After playing around with it in the Sony store in Beijing, I'm pretty impressed with the X, especially the sound quality and OLED screen.

Anyone with experience owning this gadget? I have a 80G ipod and thought about upgrading to an ipod touch. Even though I love Apple's super-intuitive user interface, its sound quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Sound quality of the walkman is amazing, it's almost high-end audio. Clarity, range, and dynamics are outstanding. Of course, it doesn't have the punch and deep bass of a powerful system, and it might be very slightly muddy in the mid-range of intense metal rock songs, but otherwise it's superb. Hikki sounds like she's singing right next to you when playing Hikari. Highly recommended!

BTW, a walkman is built into the new Sony Ericsson cellphone, Xperia. Besides a great android phone, you get a great mobile music player.
