Getting our first snow of the winter today. When I was younger , I loved it , so pretty and it usually meant a white Christmas. Now , in my old age , I look at it and think oh my sore back and freezing my butt off , LOL.

I just got a new set of studless, and so the shop put them on (usually do it myself). It's a little early, but I don't drive much, so why not. The old set probably had one more winter in them, but if things go according to plan--fingers crossed--I'll keep the car for this winter and two more, so replace the tires now rather than next year.

I always like aggressive mud & snow type tires and I always replace the junk bubble tire with a full size spare. Now that I'm retired , I usually drive around 500 miles a year at the most. My Forester has no problem with a foot of heavy wet snow , but I avoid driving in it if I can.

We got some snow today. Enough to cover the ground 1 or 2 cm.

I got lucky , it all melted when it hit the ground. There is a better chance for a storm on Monday here. With my luck , it will be a big one. Both my big snow blowers are in the shop for service. One needs parts and they have no idea when they can get the parts with a lot on back order. My other machine was just in for a check-up and tune up , and may come back on Monday if I'm real lucky. I have a driveway 95 feet long and 12 feet wide. Finding someone to come plow & shovel is almost impossible even if I could afford it. I wish global warming would hit here , LOL.
